Acento English speaking coach

Speak up in English meetings, even when they move fast

In meetings you often know what to say, but by the time you've built the sentence, the conversation has moved on. Acento puts you in live meetings with AI colleagues, from a calm daily standup to a fast planning call where nobody stops for you, so you can practice jumping in, and saying no, before it counts.

Sound familiar?

  • By the time you've built your sentence, they've moved on to the next topic.
  • You stay quiet, then hear someone else say your idea.
  • A colleague volunteers your time, or takes credit for your work, and you don't know how to answer politely.
  • Your standup update comes out vague, and people ask you to explain it again.

Start with a standup

Give your update to the person running the meeting and a teammate, who ask follow-up questions. Describe your real job and what you need to say, and the meeting changes to fit your work.

Get a word in

In the fast meeting, three colleagues plan a release at a native pace and never stop for you. You know why Friday won't work. Your job is to find the moment and say it.

Hold your ground politely

Practice the moments that make meetings hard: a teammate offers your time, someone reports your work as theirs, a manager rewrites what was agreed, a joke that's really a jab. You learn the move and the phrases, then use them live.

Questions

Will they slow down for me?

Not in the fast meeting, on purpose: the colleagues talk among themselves at a native pace, because real meetings do. The standup is calmer and a good place to start.

Do I need a camera?

No. You can join with your voice only. Only your voice is used for the review; no video is sent for analysis.

Is it free?

The meeting calls come with Premium ($9 a month or $69 a year). You can try a free call with the speaking coach first, to hear how a live call works and which sounds to work on.
